May 17,2013- Sagada- The participants in the “Training on Coffee Roasting, Packaging and Marketing Benguet and Mountain Province which was held at the new municipal building, top floor on May15-17 went for a tour today-May 17.
They visited the church, Echo Valley and the underground river.
The group said the tour was a real break after 2 days of intensive input. They learned more on the culture and some history of Sagada in that 2-3 hours tour.

A training course on coffee roasting, packaging and marketing was given to some coffee producers, processors and representatives from the Local Government Units of Sablan and La Trinidad of Benguet; Tadian, Sabangan, Bauko, Besao and Sagada of Mt Province.
This training aims to improve the coffee industry in Benguet and Mt. Province.
The trainees learned how to make their produce competitive in the national market if not globaly.
It is sponsored by the Agricultural training institute in coordination with the office of the Municipal agriculture of Sagada, and attended by 32 participants from 7 municipalities of Benguet and Mt Province.
This training started on May 15 and will culminate on May 17.

After a 2 day training on organic fertilization, insect pest and diseases management and tagging, prunning and rejuvination technique of coffee trees, the “Magic 35 Coffee Organization was formally organized today.

They elected their officers and Lope Busaing was elected as president, Ben Malecdan as vice pres, Annie Sumedca as secretary, Benita Doga-ong as treasurer, Eliza Mayapit as PRO, Brenda Fuchay and Osenio Lay-os as business managers, and Esteban Solang as auditor.

This organization organization is visualized to be a model organization of organic coffee production in the municipality.

April 12,2013- Sagada- 35 coffee growers avail of “Training on Organic Fertilization Application, Insect Pest and Diseases Management and Tagging, Pruning and Rejuvenation Technique of coffee Trees which was given by the reps. from HARRDEC, BSU,TM, and other agencies, in partnership with OMAG-Sagada and SACC.

The training started on April 11 and ends today,April 12.

The participants learned a lot and they promised to be more serious in their coffee production, while the resource persons promised to continue coming to Sagada to give more trainings and to monitor the coffee production. (Igon Doco)
